Another One's Flying the Coop! - Tuesday, September 24, 2013
Our beautiful front desk coordinator, Chelsea, is flying the coop! She's heading off to start her college adventure, and although we will miss her, we are so excited for the stories she'll be bringing back with her from Oregon State University when she comes back to visit. We know you'll join us in wishing her well!

Annual Backpack Sponsorship! - Thursday, May 31, 2012
I know that school is just getting ready to get out, but remember back to when you were a kid... Do you remember getting ready to go back to school? Although it is sad to say good bye to summer, it is always exciting picking out your school supplies for the upcoming school year. To this day, I LOVE the smell of a new box of crayons!
If you ask a teacher, there are many kids that don't come to school with school supplies, and a great number of them are foster children. When you are a foster child, there are so many ways that you are different from everyone else. You don't live with your parents, you don't have many of your own belongings, most, if not all of your clothing is second hand, you have things like attorneys, CASA workers, caseworkers and therapists that are a part of your everyday life, you likely live in a different home than your siblings do. The list goes on, and not having school supplies is just another way that it is obvious that you are different. It is nearly impossible to come out of the foster care system without deep emotional scars and without a sense of embarassment or even shame, but at Ritual, we believe that providing new school supplies to foster kids is an easy way to make them feel more like a "normal" kid!
With your tax deductible donation of just $30, we are able to purchase a new backpack and fill it with name-brand school supplies for local kids in foster care. If you've done any school supply shopping, you know that it is nearly impossible to find a backpack for $30, let alone to fill it, but we are bargin shoppers that aren't afraid to ask for deep discounts from retailers! We can stretch a buck for these great kids!
Our goal this year is to raise enough money to provide 40 kids with backpacks. That means that we have to raise $1200! Consider supporting Royal Family Kids so a foster child enjoy the start of a new school year! Thank you~Labels: back to school, backpacks, donations, RFKC
