One Fish, Two Fish... - Wednesday, September 30, 2009
Meet our new fish! Lisa was so broken hearted when Valentino passed away, that she ran right out and got these two little guys. Their names have been the topic of great discussion... Starsky and Hutch, Matt and Johnny, Dolce and Gabana... and after yesterday, Marchello and Lucky. Don't tell PETA, but yesterday, Lisa scooped the little guys out of their bowl so she could give their house a good cleaning and while she was out of the room, one of them ("Lucky", on the left) jumped out of the cup he was in and lay stranded on the counter top. We're not sure how long he was there, but when he was found, he was no longer gasping for water. He got scooped up and tossed back into his home where things looked bleak for a bit... he was floating upside down for awhile! But, Lucky him, he managed to survive the day and today, he was looking great! Here's to hoping that all fish stay in their bowls!
We've Had A Loss At Ritual - Wednesday, September 23, 2009
We knew this day was coming, but it doesn't stop us from being sad! Our beloved Valentino has finally gone to that great big ocean in the sky... We'll be wearing black for our week of mourning, wait, we always wear black... well, anyway, we'll miss him, although we won't miss cleaning his bowl~ Please take a moment to read Valentino's obituary.
Valentino Javier Ritual was born January 26th, 2006 in Scappoose, Oregon. He spent his childhood in the tanks of the Tanasbourne Petco and found his way to Ritual via a hopeful young man delivering a belated Valentine. The romance didn't stick, but Valentino stuck around none-the-less. He spent his long 30 month life swimming in circles and having people affectionately ask "is he dead?" Valentino passed away on the evening Tuesday, September 22nd after fighting valiantly to stay upright. A bowl side service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd, and was attended by many who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that rememberances be made to 104.1AM The Fish. Song requests are appreciated during our time of grieving.

If you haven't been in to Ritual in a little while, you should know that we're in the middle of a little project.
We are turning some little-used space into a private room which we are planning on using to provide custom facials as well as waxing services that you wouldn't want to receive in public, (legs, armpits, bikinis and the like). The walls are up and waiting to be painted, and soon we'll be furnished and ready for appointments! Yea! We will be using and recommending Dermalogica facial products which we love. If you have any questions about their products, ask away. They have an acne line that is a miracle worker and their anti-age line is amazing too... just look at us, we're in our 70's, don't we look great?! :)
Also, while we're here chatting, we wanted to update you on our H1N1 precautions... we work in very close contact with clients on a daily basis. Our clients have jobs and families and those jobs and families mean contact with other people and children etc. and so we are at high risk o  f receiving the gift of the flu virus. We've all upped our dosage of vitamins (especially Vitamin D as per Dr. Oz!) and are washing and sanitizing our hands between each client. We encourage you to up your hand sanitizing and treat everyone as if they have germs!
Please call to reschedule your appointment if you feel you are coming down with the flu and we'll do the same.
Together, we can survive the Swine Flu... we'll get our 15 minutes of fame elsewhere, thank you very much!
